The Jonas Brothers are back together after six long years. Their new single 'Sucker' proclaims their love for the ladies in their lives who are also featured in the quirky music video.
The Jonas Brothers are back in business with a bang! The sibling trio launched their catchy new track at midnight on Friday. Titled Sucker, the song is clearly an ode to the women in their lives, all of whom feature in their quirky video. The lyrics describe what it is like to be head-over-heels in love and a 'sucker' for the ladies who have their heart. Nick Jonas, 26, Joe Jonas, 29, and Kevin Jonas, 31, are stepping back into the world of pop as a singular entity after almost six years. The brothers musically disbanded in 2013 following some tension, that they believed if left unchecked could be potentially toxic to their personal relationship. Much has changed for the brothers since then, which is probably what sparked conversations to regroup and re-enter the world of pop music stronger than before with their fierce women standing beside them.
On Thursday morning, the brothers officially announced that they will be doing music together again on Instagram. A press release from their label, Republic Records confirmed the same and let fans knew that their new single Sucker was a short wait away. The brothers will be appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden next Monday through Thursday, where you can catch them all together again. A teaser clip of the show featured the Jonas Brothers enthusiastically saying, “We’re back!”
The brothers seem as close as ever, which is great to see. Working with family has its ups and downs for sure, and it looks like these boys have finally figured out a way to make it work. A source told People that Nick, Joe, and Kevin had a breakfast meeting early in February at the Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel in LA. Perhaps the wise women in their lives played a part in orchestrating the reunion? We will know soon enough. It was interesting to see them share screen space with their lady loves in the music video.
For the uninitiated, Kevin is married to Danielle, Nick to Priyanka Chopra (you would have had to be living under a rock to have missed their never-ending wedding celebrations), while Joe is engaged to Sophie Turner. The video is sexy, bizarre, and intriguing featuring the women in outrageous costumes. The whole video has a Tim Burton-esque vibe to it and opens in an eerie old mansion. The brothers debut their return in red and black ensembles. Joe takes the center in an all-black outfit complete with a turtleneck and jacket. Nick is on his left and is dressed in an all-red number as he sings the opening notes. Kevin is on the right in a bedazzled black and red suit.
The brothers sing to their women who give them their mildly disinterested audience while stretched out on lawn chairs that have been dragged inside the dark mansion. The video continues to get increasingly strange, featuring a scene where all of them are in individual bathtubs fully clothed with suckers as props among other things. Each couple gets their share of screen time and where they allow some intimacy to slip through the cracks of all the quirkiness. The video ends with the lot posing for a portrait while an artist paints them — arguably the only normal frame in the whole video.

Prior to this new single, the Jonas Brothers have released four full-length albums after snagging a record deal back in 2005. Their work includes: It’s About Time (2006), Jonas Brothers, (2007), A Little Bit Longer (2008) and Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009). The brothers rose to fame after appearing on several Disney Channel originals like Hannah Montana where they worked alongside Miley Cyrus, and even starred in their own series titled Jonas among other things. They were all set to release their fifth LP when fans were given the news that they had decided to break up the band.
Nick was the one who made the first move and told his brothers he was thinking of leaving the band. “Kevin and I thought we were going into a meeting about releasing some of the music we’d been working on,” Joe told People at the time. “There were tears and yelling from everybody,” Nick confessed, while Kevin added, “It was the most real, the most intense conversation that we’ve had in our lives together.” He also said that "it was becoming toxic". However, all that seems to be water under the bridge now as the three brothers are back to making great music together.
